In recent months, over 150 physicians from Kazakhstan have participated in training programmes and internships at leading German hospitals, organised by the International Academy of Management and Technology (INTAMT). Continuing this collaboration, a delegation of 30 medical experts from Kazakhstan recently visited the AOK Rheinland/Hamburg headquarters in Düsseldorf to explore key aspects of Germany’s healthcare and insurance systems.
The visit covered several important topics:
- 1. Health and Long-Term Care Insurance – an overview of Germany’s statutory health insurance system, highlighting its role in providing equitable healthcare access.
- 2. Maternity Benefits and Prenatal Care – comprehensive support for expectant mothers, including prenatal care, childbirth preparation, and preventive gynaecological screenings.
- 3. Preventing Long-Term Care Dependency – the “Reha before Care” initiative was discussed, showcasing Germany’s focus on rehabilitation to prevent care dependency.
- 4. Health Management in Nursing – workplace health promotion initiatives were introduced, with a focus on the Care4Care programme aimed at supporting nursing staff and improving workplace well-being.
The delegation engaged in discussions on adapting these practices to Kazakhstan’s healthcare system, particularly in maternal health, rehabilitation, and nursing care. The visit further solidified the growing collaboration between German and Kazakh medical professionals, facilitated by INTAMT.
The delegation expressed gratitude for the informative sessions and warm reception, underlining the mutual commitment to advancing healthcare innovation through international exchange.
