ENEX – Expert in Nanotechnology Exploitation

Nanotechnology is one of the scientific fields that is rapidly growing and has found usage in various branches of industry. A lot of professionals with different vocational qualifications work for numerous nanotechnology companies, universities teach and train specialists in nanotechnology worldwide. But not all the employees of nanotechnology companies have a competent knowledge of nanotechnology (esp. those in marketing, HR or finance departments). On the other hand, personnel in R&D and production departments are competent in nanotechnology, but do not have sufficient expertise in the marketing and commercialization of research outputs as well as in innovation management. This is the reason why we have designed an e-learning course ENEX – Expert in Nanotechnology Exploitation as an ‘interface’ between laboratories and researchers developing nanotechnologies and the industry and health sector using them. The project was co-funded by the ERASMUS+ program of the EU and was successfully implemented in 2014-2017 offering knowledge in technology as well as competences in marketing and innovation management to its participants.

The ENEX project was awarded as a good practice example in project management.

The e-learning course comprises 2 modules: Nanotechnology and Innovation Management. Each module concludes with a final examination.

The ENEX course was developed in close cooperation with experts from five European countries led by INTAMT Group.

  • INTAMT Group (Germany)
  • ASEV Agenzia per lo Sviluppo Empolese Valdelsa Spa (Italy)
  • “Nello Carrara” Institute of Applied Physics (IFAC) (Italy)
  • University of Łódź (Poland)
  • Polytechnic University of Bucharest (Romania)
  • Mesa+ Institute/ University of Twente (the Netherlands)

INDEX – Industry Expert

The onset of the fourth industrial revolution known as “Industry 4.0” is a key technological feature at the current stage of human development. This term was coined in 2011, as the German government defined “Industry 4.0” as an integral element of the German “High-tech strategy 2020”. The working group on Industry 4.0 characterized its vision of the new industrial revolution as a worldwide implementation of cyber physical systems in manufacturing processes, which are in charge not only for certain manufacturing stages but are able to monitor and optimize manufacturing processes completely on its own. “Industry 4.0” is an introduction of computer-aided production processes operated by intelligent systems in real time mode continuously interacting with the external environment beyond the boundary of a single company and with a prospective of incorporation into the global production network for products and services ensured by “the Internet of Things” and “the Internet of People”.

An essential prerequisite for a successful implementation of the „Industry 4.0“ is the training of professionals competent in effectively using huge opportunities of the innovative solutions offered by the fourth industrial revolution.

In 2018 INTAMT Academy successfully applied for ERASMUS+ funding of the INDEX project “Industrial Expert”. A multinational project consortium has been developing an e-learning platform for subjects related to Industry 4.0.

E-learning resource “INDEX Industry Expert” is designed as an open network capable to integrate educational courses on specific Industry 4.0. components. Within the present project 6 educational courses will be developed:

  • Industry 4.0: Introduction course
  • Sensor technology and automation
  • Additive manufacturing
  • Internet of Things
  • Augmented reality
  • Entrepreneurship, technology and restructuring management

In terms of their contents and methodology the courses will be designed in such a way that they can be understood without prior academic qualification. It will make them especially suitable for vocational training programs.

The INDEX project has been implemented by a project consortium consisting of experts from 5 European countries:

  • INTAMT Group (Germany) coordinates the project
  • ASEV Empolese Valdelsa Spa Development Agency (Italy)
  • IFAC The “Nello Carrara” Institute of Applied Physics (Italy)
  • Polytechnic University of Bucharest (Romania)
  • University of Łódź (Poland)
  • University of Applied Science STICHTING SAXION (the Netherlands)

The project started on September 9, 2018 and will be completed on August 31, 2021.

The project stages and outputs are presented on the website www.industrialexpert.eu

Implementation of inclusive education in primary schools of the Republic Azerbaijan

The current stage of education development is characterized by an active search for forms, approaches and technologies in learning and teaching taking into account learners’ individual needs. Inclusive education is a practical realization of this trend; it means that children with special needs attend general schools with their non-disabled peers. A decisive contribution to the development of inclusive education was made by the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities (Resolution 61/106) adopted on December 13, 2006. UNICEF provides funding to projects on implementation of inclusive education internationally. Under the contract with UNICEF INTAMT Academy created a concept of inclusive education for the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan in 2014-2015.The concept was developed in close cooperation with leading German experts and includes recommendations on management organization, legal regulations, methods of inclusive education, suggestions for improvement of teacher education and their further training. Visits of German experts to Azerbaijan were organized, so that they could conduct workshops on lesson organization and techniques in inclusive classes. Also a study tour of Azerbaijani educators to Germany was arranged, where they could see with their own eyes how inclusive education works in Germany. At the present time the pilot project on co-education of students of year 1 and 2 with and without special educational needs has been carried out in 4 schools in Baku (see a video report from an Azerbaijani TV-channel).
