On the 24th of June the international team of 14 participants from Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Germany, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine met to discuss the DISENEX+East project issues to work on in the coming 6 months.

The DISENEX+East project is dedicated to the professional inclusion of people with disabilities through engagement into social entrepreneurship and aims to promote  (social) entrepreneurship among them.

The international project will result in a series of motivating films, a selection of learning courses on entrepreneurial skills and an overview of national legislation in the fields of social entrepreneurship .

The mini-films, presenting personal stories of the people with disabilities started their own business, will show the possibilities of self-realization and motivate them to make a challenging step into an independent life by becoming self-employed and starting their own socially-oriented business.

To provide an opportunity to become an entrepreneur and to cover the skills gaps required for successful start and sustainable development of one’s own business, a choice of specialized online training programmes already available in the project countries will be offered based on the methodological analysis and jointly elaborated selection criteria. The last output of the project should be the information on the national legislation and support opportunities for the people with disabilities, starting (social) entrepreneurship, to understand the current situation in the partner countries and possible strategy recommendations.

The DISENEX+East project is the extension of the European project DISENEX – Disability Entrepreneurship Expert, which is being implemented by a consortium of Germany, Italy, Norway, Turkey and Slovenia, fostering exchange of the innovative practices in the social area between them.

The project is co-funded by the Federal Ministry of Foreign  Affairs.
