Thoracic surgeons from Kazakhstan participate in two-week internship, organised by INTAMT
Starting 5 September thoracic surgeons from Kazakhstan took part in a two-week internship at the clinic for general, thoracic and paediatric surgery at the University Hospital Düsseldorf (Universitätsklinikum Düsseldorf) under the guidance of Prof. Wolfram-Trudo Knoefel.
Our guests are colleagues from the hospitals Atyrau Oncological Dispensary (Maxat Shamshenov) and Atyrau Regional Phthisiopulmonology Center (Alima Salykhova) (roughly speaking, TB dispensary). The main interests of the trainees are the methods of minimally invasive surgical treatment of diseases of the lungs and mediastinum. Among other things, the following activites were offered: daily attendance at operations, rounds and visits to the pulmonology clinic to get acquainted with the practice of joint work of surgery and therapy in the treatment of patients with pulmonary diseases.
INTAMT started a big educational project – a cycle of internships for doctors from medical institutions in Atyrau, the Republic of Kazakhstan. The start of the cycle was on 29 August, the last internships should end on 16 September.
