Managers from Russia and Kazakhstan participated in a training on “Designing a barrier-free environment taking into account the needs of people with disabilities” from 12 to 16 October 2015. This was organised by the INTAMT Academy as part of the seminar series “European experiences in rehabilitation and social integration of people with disabilities”. In addition to the visit to the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of Labour, Integration and Social Affairs, several presentations of different initiatives were on the agenda for the four-member delegation, including the current projects of the Rheinbahn, the local transport company of the state capital, followed by a tour of the means of transport. At the international trade fair “Rehacare International”, the participants of the training were able to examine the latest developments in the field of accessibility. Furthermore, the professionals were able to gain valuable impressions during a visit to an inpatient facility and an assisted living facility.
