How to get students interested in the topics covered in school lessons? How to teach things that have practical applications in everyday life? These and other questions were addressed in the latest educational event of the past year, the webinar series “Improving functional literacy in schools – international experience”, held in the run-up to Christmas.
The lecturers of the webinars were leading experts in teacher trainings for schools in Germany in the fields of chemistry, mathematics and languages. During the three webinars, innovative concepts of teaching science and languages, aiming to develop practice-oriented knowledge and applied competences were presented and examples from both current research projects and everyday teaching practice in German schools were given.
