From 12 to 16 October 2015, the INTAMT Academy organised a series of seminars under the motto “European experiences in rehabilitation and social integration of people with disabilities”. One component of this was the training on “Organisation and financing of social security systems for the sick, people with disabilities and senior citizens in Germany”. The highest-ranking participant was Aigul Tabergenova, Deputy Head of the Social Welfare Department at the Ministry of Health and Social Development in Kazakhstan. Numerous events and workshops as well as a visit to the international trade fair “Rehacare International” provided many impulses for their professional practice. With the state initiative “NRW Inklusiv”, the visit to inpatient facilities for the care of people with support needs as well as a barrier-free city tour, both theoretical and practical content from social policy for people with disabilities could be explained using concrete examples. The focus was on legal regulations, financial incentives for private providers and the targeted qualification of professionals.
