Our Guiding Principle
Fair placement — taking responsibility
INTAMT is fully committed to fair and ethical recruitment and placement practices that meet high international standards. In our work, we adhere to the following six core principles:
- Written documentation for verifiability: We ensure that all relevant agreements and processes are recorded in writing
- No fees for nursing professionals: We guarantee that the entire placement process is free of charge for nursing professionals. Recruitment and placement involve no financial burden for candidates.
- Limiting financial risk: We are committed to keeping the financial risk for nursing professionals as low as possible and enabling a secure start in Germany.
- Transparency about structures, services, and costs: We communicate openly and clearly about our structures, services, and any associated costs.
- Sustainability and participation: Our recruitment and placement practices are oriented toward the long term and the active involvement of all stakeholders to foster sustainable, successful integration.
- End-to-end responsibility: We assume full responsibility for the entire recruitment and placement process and stand as a reliable partner alongside both nursing professionals and employers.
Furthermore, we are strictly committed to the WHO Global Code of Practice on the International Recruitment of Health Personnel.. This means we do not recruit nursing staff from countries included on the current WHO Health Workforce Support and Safeguards List—i.e., countries from which the active recruitment of health and care workers is prohibited. We apply this based on each individual’s usual place of residence and respect all national and international requirements.
The current WHO list of states from which we do not recruit for ethical reasons can be found here: Support and Safeguards List 2023
Our statement also includes compliance with international human rights standards, which we regard as indispensable, in particular:
-
ILO Core Labour Standards, defining fundamental principles and rights at work.
-
ILO General Principles and Operational Guidelines for Fair Recruitment and the Definition of Recruitment Fees and Related Costs, setting out fair recruitment practices and cost rules.
-
United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, providing guidance for business conduct in line with human rights.
-
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which we recognize as binding and consider in all our activities.
A central concern for us is the Employer-Pays Principle: neither directly nor indirectly may recruitment fees or costs for related services be charged to nursing professionals. This applies to the entire service chain to protect the financial integrity of candidates.
Finally, our placement agreements do not include any bonding clauses or repayment obligations related to recruitment/placement costs. Exceptions are only permissible under specific, clearly defined circumstances—particularly for costs incurred in the professional’s country of origin. Likewise, we do not facilitate employment contracts that contain such obligations.
With this statement, we reaffirm our commitment to the fair, ethical, and responsible recruitment and placement of international nursing professionals.
